Before facing the Brooklyn Nets, the Dallas Mavericks decided on future plans for veteran All-Star forward Khris Middleton. But during the game, that plan was in jeopardy as the newly acquired star headed to the locker room.

Middleton went down briefly in the second quarter when he bumped into Nets center Nic Claxton. The Mavs forward then went to the bench and was evaluated for a few minutes before he returned to close out the first half. He did not play in the second half due to a right shoulder stinger and was ruled out for the remainder of tonight’s game against the Nets.

Then videos emerged from the game, where Khris Middleton was clearly bothered by his shoulder before being ruled out. He posted six points, five rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Caleb Martin started the second half for the Mavs in his place. The Mavericks acquired Middleton, a Texas A&M product, when they traded Anthony Davis and others to the Washington Wizards. Middleton came into Tuesday’s game averaging 16 points and 4.8 rebounds in four games as a Maverick.
